A blog about the English life of an American kitty who lives with one human woman and one indentured servant man and sometimes two young boys.

Hello.
All that stuff I said about sun spots in the garden? Well - you can forget it.
This is the weather forecast from now until -- perhaps eternity:
Notice how this graphic encompasses everything: rain, sun, clouds. Don't be fooled. It's mostly clouds and rain.
On a happier note, after 14 years of never even attempting to jump on a kitchen counter... I'VE STARTED JUMPING ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER!!! Oh it's lovely. There are some delicious things up there -- like butter. I was also able to lick the bottom of a pan. If you haven't jumped on the kitchen counter yet, I highly recommend it. You should start practicing now.

Countersurfng is the best! We get on the counters ALL the time. We get squirted a lot. Hope they don't do that to you!
what a sweet baby
I've never done that either, but thanks for the go ahead!
Jake loves to jump on the counter - he licks the butter (which is why it now lives in a covered dish) and any dishes he can get to! I'll jump up occasionally, but only if Mommy is dumb enough to leave the treat jar open :-)
Sorry about your rotten weather. It's wonderfully sunny here, but windy and cold - we even had frost this morning! Mommy said she'd prefer rain to the cold (she is done with cold for a while!).
Purrs,
Pearl
I am so glad you discovered the joys of jumping on the counter!
But you look very sad about your gloomy weather. I'm sure the sun will come out eventually!
YOU WAITED 14 YEARS!! =0_0=
Oh Pearl, the kitchen counter is heaven. Now you need to learn to sneak up there when a cake is cooling from the oven!! one of my favorite countertop encounters!
Also, practice jumping down and quickly getting to another room so it looks like you were never up there.
Have fun!!
enjoy your spring weather... all of the extremes are happening here too
As I'm sure you've learned, butter is very good for your coat -- licked of course, not rubbed in. Keep up the jumping!
I've thought about it. Then I looked at the neighbor cat who lives Outdoors All The Time. I don't think I'll risk it.
Eclipse
I jump on the counter, but mum never leaves anything fun out!
My kitties don't often jump on the counter...but Sarah likes the top of the fridge. She can jump straight there from the floor!
Hope you get sunshine soon..
Oh yes, we're on the counter every day and you're right...there are many interesting things up there.
George
I keep trying it but it seems to upset the humans, they start shouting and waving their arms and basically looking ridiculous. FAZ
Make sure to give your fur a good *shake* before jumping on the counter, Pearl. All those cat hairs are a dead give-away, no matter how innocently you lay lying in your people-approved cat bed (as I do) they still know!
P.S. We are moving about 15 minutes away to a brand new (everything working) house which backs onto farmland. The beans are most excited. They tell me I will love the gas fireplace, but we'll see...
It's been nasty and rainy here as well.I love jumping on the counter and drinking from mom's cup :)
