Pumpy and I had a barney the other night. (A barney is British for an argument.) Anyway... we had a barney at about 2 AM. Pumpy chased me around and I was growling and hissing and spitting and my fur was flying. It came out in clumps all over the hallway. Then the dog got all involved because she thought she was being "invited to play" but of course she doesn't know anything.

So the woman had to get up and put a stop to it and she was none too thrilled. She stayed awake for a few hours afterward but Pumpy and I fell back to sleep, curled up against each other as always. We really love each other and I don't exactly know why we have these spats. I think it's because one of us flicks our tail wrong or moves an ear forward.

I can understand how such things can happen. All's well that ends well, I say. :)

Our cats have barneys all the time! They love to chase each other at the crack of dawn!

2 a.m. is, of course, just the right time to have a barney. It ensures that the barneying cats tire themselves out so they can sleep and thoroughly disturbs the human so she can't sleep:) xxx

I never, ever heard the word "barney" before. It sounds funny! I want to go have a barney with Pixie now.

Oh Princess Pearl, we do that to! Between 2 and 4 am is our preferred time as well - that way Mommy and Daddy get the most sleep disturbance! We just go back to sleep like nothing happened.
