Feline Fakery

In case you didn't see this in my comments, I bring to you this piece of information provided by Maryam of My Marrakesh:

" I had to swing by to tell you of the most unusual imposter who has come to live with us in Marrakesh, brought by my mother. It looks exactly like a sleeping cat and it's chest rises and falls and it purrs gently....but in fact it is battery operated. Frankly, I think you should be worried -- this is the just the sort of thing that could fool humans....and it doesn't even need to be fed! Pls gather your friends round and put into place an emergency response system."

This is disturbing on so many levels. First of all, I hope that Meow Meow (Maryam lives with Meow Meow) hasn't seen this ghastly thing. Do NOT let her near it as I'm sure it would upset her greatly.

Maryam is right... this is exactly the kind of thing that would fool those silly little humans. I had very bad dreams last night about this and I woke the woman up at 5 AM to tell her about them (oh... and to ask for breakfast) but she put me out of the bed!! But I didn't let that put me off and I got back into the bed at 5:30 and treddled on her pillow good and hard. And I purred good and loud. THEN she got out of bed and stomped off and so I let out a big "RAUOW" until she came back for me and carried me downstairs.

After breakfast I gave myself a bath:

I'll bet those fake cats can't do this!

Oh my! I can see how a fake kitty that moved would be very strange and upsetting to you Pearl. But they will never replace the real thing :)

I simply must take a picture of this imposter and send it to you, so that you can see what you are up again. Luckily she is very docile. Then again, she is fake, and so that might explain it....

Brings to mind a song. Not sure if I've got it exactly but it goes something like "There ain't nothing like the real thing baby!"

Hi! I love your bling bling. Very purty.
Personally, I like anything shiny, and that I can put the bitey on, like my toys on a stick.

It is a shame that your tree is already down. Mommy said she is taking ours down this weekend. That makes me sad. What will I play with???

It is nice you're helping your mommy re-upholster her chair. i'm trying to tell my mommy she needs to paint because a couple of weeks ago I started scratching the walls.

I'm a little nervous about fake kitties who don't eat or beg for treatsies. They can't replace the real thing though!!!!!!!!!!

That is a terrifying though! But you're right, I bet those fake cat's can't give themselves a bath.

You're "playing bass fiddle" in that last photo. Nothing like a little housekeeping in the new year.

I agree that those fakey, fakey kitties are scary. Mom saw some at Hallmark ... They had fakey, fakey doggies, too. Why, oh why would someone want a fakey pet when they can have the real thing? I say ... "Get thee to an animal shelter post haste!" There's nothing like a real kibble-eatin', hairball hackin', bass fiddle playin', litterbox treadin', biscuit makin' cat!

Crikey! I don't think I can do that yoga posture - my generous stomach prevents me from getting into such positions.

The MamaKitty also saw those fake kitties at Hallmark - plus fake woofies too. Luckily she didn't bring any home. Us real kitties are the only ones who belong in our home!
