Elevenses
Hello.
Today I would like to tell you about Elevenses. If you are not British or Australian, then you may not know what Elevenses is. This is equivalent to mid-morning tea, usually taken at about 11 AM, at which time partakers usually have a few biscuits or sweet cakes and a cup of tea. (You can look this up on Wikipedia if you doubt me.)
Whenever the woman has a day off from work, we all have Elevenses and I highly recommend it to my American friends. Go ahead... wherever you are... at 11 AM (or there abouts) grab yourself a cup of tea and a cookie and give yourself a break. OR -- have a temptation and a slurp of water. It's a great way to enjoy the day.

Sounds like a fabulous idea! I think the LL could really use some tea.

That's a great idea Pearl!!
What a great idea to share Elevenses with everyone. It's a nice way to break up the morning. FAZ
Thanks for teaching us about Elevenses. I have never heard of it before, but it sounds like a fantastic idea!
I think there should be more than ewevenses.
There should be a wule that evewy single bean and kitty should have ones, twos, thwees, fours, fives, sixes, sevens, eights, nines, tens, ewevenses, twelves, and so on. You get the pictor.

On her day off work at 11 o'clock my Bean insists on watching a horribly LOUD and gossipy American show called "the View". I am sure your Bean knows of it. Just when I'm trying to take my mid-morning cat-nap, too!
Oh Pearl, you are so civilized. I need you to come to my house and class the place up.
Mum agrees with taking a break. Maybe even a little before 11 :)
What a lovely idea!
us Brits love our cakes :)
we manage to squeeze elevenses in between brekkers and lunch and then we do afternoon tea between lunch and dinner...and then a snack just before bdtime too x
My MomBean says she would like to have Elevenses, Twelveses, Oneses, and so forth all throughout the day!
My mom loves the sound of that tradition. Thank you for sharing it. Maybe next Saturday at 11 am we'll give it a try.
Elevenses is what I call breakfast! :) (I stay up late and sleep late). Thanks for your timely comments on my blog! Yes, Rumsfeld was issued with a summons to appear in court to answer a lawsuit for human rights violations! (About time). As for Sarkozy, well he says exactly what he thinks and does what he wants and is quick to dismiss those who disagree or annoy him. So I wasn't surprised by the 60 Minutes interview. He often tries to bully his media titian friends in France into publishing - or not publishing - some story or another. He apparently thinks the press is to serve him. Never a dull moment in French politics these days! :)
