MAN CAT MONDAY!!!

Pumpy accidentally got locked outside. We knew something was amiss because there developed a terrible ruckus in the garden and when we went out to investigate -- there was Pumpy under the trees and there was a bird standing before him, telling him off.

Pumpy allowed the bird to vent her feelings as he is very non-confrontational, especially when he's upset.

It all ended well. The woman grabbed Pumpy and brought him in the house and the bird returned to her nest in the trees, her feathers a little less ruffled.

My Open House

Mrs G.invited us to her open house where she showed us her favorite room. So now we're showing our favorite room. It's the bedroom, of course. We find our bedroom akin to a sanctuary of sorts. We like to read and nap there on Sunday afternoons. And I would be lying if I didn't say that we watch TV in there too. It's a place where we can go get away from the madness of the world. (We can also see into the neighbor's back yard and dining room from our bedroom window.) Personally, I like to sit under the bed but no one else joins me in this.

Everything was just FINE until...

...I ate the top off "Sissy's Goo Cake:"

We visited The Voodoo Cafe and got a recipe for this cake:

Sissy’s Pineapple Goo Cake:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Mix together: 2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 small teaspoons soda
¼ teaspoon salt

Add

1 #2 can (big can the size of two flat cans) crushed pineapple with juice
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla.
Mix well.
Cook in 13” x 9 “ pan, 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Frosting/Filling
1 stick oleo
1 ½ cups sugar
1 small can Carnation milk.
Heat to boiling and cook 2 minutes (low boil)
Remove from heat and add 1 cup nuts 1 can (cup) coconut 1 teaspoon vanilla
Pour over hot cake.
Enjoy!

It was really good. In the middle of the night I removed the plastic wrap and ate the top off of this delicious delicacy.
Pumpy didn't join me and so he's 100% but I'm only 50% at the moment. We've had to change the litter box a couple of times. Oops.

My Inner Pagan Speaks

Today marks the Summer Solstice which is the longest day of sunlight all year. I especially like to celebrate this day because you know how I loves me some sun beams.

Cornwall Anyone?

I would like to give a big shout out to Lesley at The Sunrise Guest House in Bude, Cornwall.

First of all, she opened her guest house up to woofies and that meant that those two took that irritating D-O-G with them and I got a few days of peace and quiet and unlimited crunchy fudz.

Secondly, I hear that Lesley runs a very wonderful guest house. It's clean, decorated to a high standard, and she gives you chocolates and other candy as treats... which isn't my kind of treat but the humans seem to like it.

But best of all is that everyone is made to feel welcome and comfortable -- I've been told all of this -- and the beans came home really happy .

Thanks Lesley and Jack!! (This is a photo of Lesley and her woofie, Jack):

And here is a photo of a Cornish village. Isn't it the cutest?

Breakfast Together

Isn't it true that it's a happy family who eats breakfast together? Well - I'm certainly happy. That young boy who lives here gave me the milk from his Cheerios. And it was a warm and sunny spring day. You can't see him in the photo, but Pumpy was asleep on the sofa throughout breakfast and he missed the whole thing.

The woman washes the floors and moves the rug outside...

I sleep in the sun.

And smell the lavender.

Oh hello!

I've been very remiss about posting but things have gotten hectic in the house and I've had to make myself scarce.  Grandma Pat visited this weekend and so there was quite a bit of frenetic activity and this made me nervous.

The other thing that has happened is that the woman can't find her connecter cord for the digital camera so she can't post any newer photos of Pumpy and me.

The above photo was taken a few months ago whilst I was waiting for my supper.
