Photo Hunters - Sweet

The above photo was taken during the month of April when the sun was shinning and it was warm. Those two had this lovely chocolate tart and some strawberries while sitting on the patio. Ah... those were the days.

It rains every day in England now and there's a bite in the air. The sun umbrella hasn't even been opened this month.

Below is another photo of Pumpy and me cuddling as we do every day.

Man Cat Monday

Pumpy likes to sit at the head of the table like a real man cat. He's very insistent about it even though those two never feed us at the table. We have to eat off of plates on the floor.

When dinner isn't being served, Pumpy likes to sit on the table and each time the man or the woman walk through the dining room Pumpy will cry out in the hopes that they'll give him some food. I don't waste my breath. They hardly ever feed us between meals so I save my energy and take a nap.

Hello friends...

I'm just sitting here wondering: How many times a day do you get kissed by your humans? Pumpy and I get kissed about (as Skeezix says) a squillion. She's always coming at us and she tries to pick me up, which I don't really like, and then she kisses me and if she's wearing lipstick it gets on my white coat sometimes.

Widebody Wednesday

Pumpy has a pink belly. It's almost furless and it's very soft. I think it's because he licks it A LOT.

And for being a good boy, Pumpy gets a big cuddle:

Fitted Cats (Photo Fixed)

Once we arrived in England we had weeks of adjustment moving from our palatial NY apartment to an iddy-biddy English flat. This was described in my Fitted Cats blog entry in February. However the picture didn't load. The indentured servant has now fixed this. Follow the link (click here) for the original blog entry.

Photo Hunters - Hair

I actually dislike it when she tries to dress me up or put things on my body. However, I think this long, blonde hair is very exciting.

100th Post Contest for Cretan Cats

Hi Everyone!

Those two came back yesterday and, while Pumpy and I DID leave them some "surprises" around the house, that's not what I'm going to tell you about today. No. Today I must tell you that there are hundreds of stray cats who roam the streets of Crete, wherever that is.

SOOOOOOO. I'm having a contest and the winner will get some prizes PLUS a donation in their name to the Creten Animal Welfare Group. All you have to do is guess the date and time of my 100th post, which is coming up.

The Cretan Animal Welfare Group also helps woofies and donkeys too and they are running a spay/neuter program for stray animals which is badly needed.

So go ahead and give it a go! Guess when my 100th post will be. Leave your entry in the comments of this post and you could win something fun for yourself plus help those animals on Crete.

Home Alone

No photo today, folks. Those two beans of ours went off on holiday and left us to watch the house.

The highlight of the day is when the cat feeder arrives to give us our stinky goodness and fill our dry food bowl.

Of course we gobble it up, throw up, and then eat it again. I don't mean to be gross, but, it just happens that way.

I don't know why those two have to go off on holiday somewhere. Pumpy and I are very happy to stay right here with our paws on the terra firma, thank you very much. We're planning on giving them a hard time when they get back.

Public Service Announcement...

...for Jet-Set Cats

Kitty cats that travel the transatlantic are a rare breed. In fact I only know of myself and brother Pumpy that have made the trip. The actual flight is ok (if you like cages and no in-flight entertainment) and we got the red carpet treatment at Heathrow. The staff at Heathrow, with their exotic English accents, were very nice. They even managed to keep the paparrazi away: Cats have their own airport reception building (I guess dogs too but what I meant to say is that we are separated from the Beans!). Anyway we are straying away from the Public Information Service issues... to become a Jet-Set Cat and fly to the UK is easy: all you need is the right documents. Getting the documents is the hard part!

1. First you must get "chipped" - a microchip is inserted under the skin (ouch!) And not just any old microchip, no! A chip which is readable by a machine in the UK!
2. Innoculated. Even if you are a rabies-free, palace cat (like Pumpy and me). You still have to be innoculated!
3. Blood tested to check that you have the rabies "anti-bodies". There is a six month gap between steps 2 and 3 (so no rush to book your flights). And the blood test has to be tested at a UK-approved, approved Laboratory but in the US.
4. Yippie! Book your flight. Only from a certified Cat carrying airline though.
5. On the day you fly out the cage has to be sealed by a US Food & Drug Administration Vet (which obviously will be located at JFK and not be located at the airport of the only certified Cat carrying airline in Newark).
6. And that's it. The bundle of documents from steps 1 to 5 becomes the Cat Passport. Only that nowadays, the Bean has to travel on the same flight as us Cats. And you know how difficult it is to herd Beans!

Peekaboo

In this photo we are waiting for our stinky goodness. Those two were in the lounge, not paying attention and we had to stare hard at them. I get so anxious about things, especially when I perceive that it's time to eat.

A man came to the house this week and finished the new floor in the lounge. I hid behind the curtain while he made loud noises and moved things around. It was dusty and smelly and noisy and I was beside myself by the time he finished. Now all of the carpet is gone and when I run away from certain danger I slide all over the floor. My toenails have no traction and it looks like I do a little "ice skating" routine whenever I run. You can imagine the indignity of it all.
